Meeting Description

What if some of the most impactful leadership isn’t loud, visible, or self-promoting but quietly consistent, values-driven, and deeply human? In this engaging and reflective session, Ian Chisholm, aka "Chiz", author of Quiet Champions invites coaches to explore the often-overlooked power of mentoring and its close relationship to coaching. Drawing on real stories and practical insights, Ian will illuminate how mentoring can complement coaching, strengthen leadership capacity, and create meaningful impact across organizations and communities.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The distinction and intersection between mentoring and coaching

  • The characteristics and influence of “quiet champions”

  • How coaches can intentionally integrate mentoring approaches into their practice and leadership

  • Ways mentoring supports development, belonging, and sustainable impact. This session will resonate with coaches who work with leaders, teams, and emerging talent and with anyone curious about how influence and legacy are built over time through presence, generosity, and guidance. Expect thoughtful dialogue, practical takeaways, and inspiration you can apply immediately in your coaching and leadership work.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Understand the distinctions and connections between coaching and mentoring

  • Recognize coaching skills commonly used by impactful mentors

  • Reflect on mentors who shaped their own careers

  • Identify practical ways to mentor others with greater intention
